Kanji

Kanji is a poor village in Chengam taluk in the district of Tiruvanãmalai, Tamil Nadu, India. It is isolated, more than 4 hours drive from Bangalore or Chennai.

 

Its population in the 2011 census was 5,873. It is Tamil and includes multiple faiths: Hinduism, Islam, Christianity.

 

The economy is based on agriculture (rice fields), trade and small industries: manufacturing of clothes and shoes, crafts.
