Fighting poverty through education
of the most underprivileged in Kanji in South India
Education is one of the essential levers to overcome poverty. This is especially true for girls who, too often, are discriminated against and do not receive the same educational opportunities as boys.
"The children of Kanji", a charity association close to Geneva, provides material and moral aid to the Saint Antony Foundation which brings together two institutions in the village of Kanji , Tamil Nadu:
-
The Saint Antony school open to 1600 pupils, boys and girls, from the surrounding villages
-
The Shanti Lumin children's home which welcomes around fifty orphaned or abandoned girls.
